• The contribution of expenditure groups in the formation of deflation in July 2018 is entirely from the transportation, communication and financial services group of 0.28 percent. In contrast, six other groups contributed to inflation, namely foodstuffs by 0.16 percent, food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco 0.03 percent; education, recreation and sports group 0.02 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel groups; clothing group; and the healthcare group contributed 0.01 percent each.
• Deflation The city of Bandar Lampung is ranked 70th out of 82 cities that observed price developments. Of 82 cities, 68 cities experienced inflation and 14 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Sorong at 1.47 percent, while the lowest inflation occurred in Surabaya, Depok, and Banyuwangi by 0.03 percent. The highest deflation occurred in Ambon by 1.45 percent, while the lowest deflation occurred in Palembang by 0.01 percent.
• Some dominant commodities contribute to the formation of deflation including inter-city transportation, red chili, shallots, charter / rental vehicles, chicken meat, beef, wet shrimp, grapes, flying fish, and live chickens.
• Bandar Lampung City, in July 2018 based on the calculation of calendar year inflation (point to point) of 2.48 percent, and year on year (yoy) inflation of 3.11 percent.
